Temperature Taking

It is important to have a good quality digital thermometer available. We recommend not using mercury thermometers as they are potentially hazardous. Infants and young children should have their temperature taken rectally. After about age 3, an oral temp is a good approximation of body temperature. The technology for taking ear and forehead temperatures is not reliable at this time in our opinion.
