Richard B. Heyman, M.D.
Dr. Heyman grew up in New Jersey and attended college (as a music major!) and medical school at Columbia University in New York. He completed residency training in pediatrics in New York and then a fellowship in adolescent medicine in Cincinnati. He spent over 30 years on the faculty of the Division of Adolescent Medicine and has been part of Suburban Pediatrics since 1978.
He currently lives with his wife, Beth, in Montgomery. They have three children and 5 grandchildren – and more are likely on the way. He spends his spare time playing golf and listening to the opera and is an active volunteer with several organizations involved with substance abuse prevention and treatment.
Dr. Heyman’s practice is oriented toward adolescent issues, including concerns related to growth, puberty and sexuality, behavioral problems, school issues and alcohol and drug use. He still loves seeing the little ones, however, and welcomes babies (especially his “grandpatients”) and young children to his practice. In 2009, the Cincinnati Pediatric Society recognized Dr. Heyman with its “Outstanding Community Physician” award, given annually to a local pediatrician for contributions to the welfare of children. |
